Maisy and Madeline Have Some Tea

It's mid-week and I'm here to share one of my creations for My Mum's Craft Shop, this time little Maisy and Madeline.  I've used a 'new to me' colour combo of aqua and orange which is definitely away from my usual pinks and purples!  I started off picking my backing paper first, and then decided when painting the image chose orange for the flower, so matched that on the embellishments.  :0)

I wish you the most beautiful day!

Hi there everyone! Clare here again with my DT card for

I really hope you don't mind but again i have used the Fantastic Beautiful Day Stamp Set from Altenew, along with Kuretake Gansi Tambi Watercolours. I have the full 36 colour set, as I always regret it if I go for the smaller packs of anything and wish I had just gone for them all.

This card was so easy and enjoyable to do! I cut watercolour paper to fit a 5 x 5 card blank with a border, stamped around the edge in white using the rose outline stamp and heat embossed using white embossing powder ( I use WOW! bright white opaque regular. Then I took colour from the Gansi watercolouring using a water brush and added colour to the flowers. I wanted a sketched result so wasn't too careful where the paint went. I added shading by just using less water. Then I used the silver watercolour to add a pearlescent effect to the petals.

Finally I stamped the greeting from the set with Versafine onyx black ink to the centre of the square. i matted this onto black cardstock and fixed to my card blank using 3D foam pads. I added black pearls to the corners and there we have it!

Supplies Used:
Waterbrush
White Pigment Ink (I used Hero arts Unicorn)
White embossing powder (WOW! bright white opaque regular)
Watercolour Paper
Versafine Onyx Black Ink
black cardstock
5 x 5in white card blank
Black pearls.

Thanks for visiting my Mum's Craft shop blog today, don't forget to come and visit regularly for some more great inspiration from my other Design Team Colleagues!

love, Clare x

Tiny Townie Rachel

Howdy folks it's Fi here...and my card for today...well it should have been here yesterday but I wanted to use this little cutie which was on order so it's here today!!

So the stamp is from Stamping Bella and is called Rachel Loves the Rain and is available right now. I coloured her with Spectrum Noir Markers, then did a bit of shading with pencils. The sentiment comes with the stamp...so perfect! I added a couple of sequins to finish off.

Pop back for some more inspiration from the rest of the team!

I'm In Hog Heaven

Hi everyone, Kitty here! Now I hope you aren't getting bored of those cute MFT Piggies as I just had to share my latest card using them! They are just too cute to not use right?
I decided to go for my current favourite style - watercolour backgrounds! I created this using some distress inks and water. I also splattered the background with a bit of ink too. I coloured the Hog Heaven Piggies with Copics and die cut them out. I stamped and embossed the sentiment onto black card and added some stripe paper and enamel dots. I also used Die-namics Double Stitched Rectangles & Wonky Stitched Rectangles.

Have a great day all :)

Snuggle bunnies.

Good Morning My Mum's Craft Shop fans... Today have I have a super cute make to share using the latest stamps release from MFT... I LOVE these "Snuggle Bunnies" . The base Dp and the watercolour layer is cut using Blueprints 14. I created a watercolour background using my Aquatints, and cut into the layer using the "Absolutely Fabulous" die, ( cut it a second time to create a shadow)  then I cut the "fabulous" in gold glitter card. You need a bit of sparkle , don't you??
I popped the Snuggle Bunnies on the front in 3D, aren't they adorable???
I do hope you like it!!?
Have a fabulous crafty day.

Colby's Caffeine

It's my turn to showcase a project at My Mum's Craft Shop and I've got a cute little mousey from Whipper Snapper Designs called Colby's Caffeine.

I've made a teapot shaped card from a circle with shaped spout, handle and base.

The 'lid' is just an added circle with a brad on it.  I've cut the image out with a stitched circle stax die and kept the embellishments simple with just some flowers and a die cut '50'.

Altenew Beautiful Day Stamps!

HI there everyone!

My name is Clare Curd and I'm the 'My Mum's Craft Shop' newest DT member! I'm thrilled to be joining the team as I have been shopping online at this little gem of a shop for a good while now so this is just the icing on the cake.

Today I'm sharing with you a card I've made with the Beautiful Day stamp set from Altenew. I just LOVE their stamps!

Supplies used:
Ranger Distress ink Twisted Citron,  Stampin'up Old Olive ink pad,
Ranger Black Archival ink, Versamark ink Pad, Wow! Embossing powder in Silver,
Stix2 Masking sheet, Vellum, Tim Holtz Stapler, sequins, black 002 fineline pen,
Craftwork Cards white 6 x 6 card blank, Martha Stewart Circle cutter.

When I'm using these stamps, I start with the darkest layer (i.e the detail) and then stamp over the top with the next lighter colour till I get to the lightest background layer. I find that this helps me line them up easier as the dark shades shop up through the clear stamp. However, I have tried the reverse to this and that looks good too, I just feel more comfortable dark to light. I love how these stamps are very forgiving though and never look wrong even if you're not too good at lining them up, it just makes them look even more sketched!

To make the card I cut a 5in diameter circle from the card blank using the Martha Stewart circle cutter. You could also use a circle die if you have one big enough, but make sure that the edge of the circle is overhanging the spine of the card. then I cut a flat base to the card. you can do this once you have finished stamping and putting on your greeting as then you can make sure everything is straight!

Once I had stamped the first rose (to the left) I stamped the largest flower layer onto stix2 masking paper, cut out and fixed to the rose. Then I stamped the leaves at the top and made a mask for this. I then continued stamping the rest.

I cut a strip of vellum and stamped the greeting with versa mark and heat set with Wow! embossing powder in Silver. I fixed this to the card with crossed staples, and finally added sequins and a black fine line around the edge.

Well that's all for my first post! Hope you can join me next time!
love, Clare x

Happy birthday

Morning everybody, Fi here with today's post.

Well today it's very plain and simple, Ithink the distressed look is fab yet it's so quick and easy!

First of all I used some Lyra crayons and scribbled on the background stamp, spritzed it with water and then stamped it onto a piece of watercolour card.

Once dry I then stamped some of the splodges from the distressed patterns set using black archival ink.  I also stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment in black ink too.
