FOCUS on what matters

Afternoon guys, apologies for my later than usual post for My Mum's Craft Shop. Time totally ran away with me last night, and before I knew it *BAM* it was half 10 and I wasn't even half ready for bed time!!

A super quick post this afternoon as I have a heap of stuffs to be catching up with at home.

Today I decided to use a new stamp set from MFT.

Absolutely love this set and I can see me using it LOTS!

I masked a large circle to the centre top of the card and used
Memento Pear Tart
Memento Tangelo
ink pads.

I cannot recommend those Hybrid ink pads from MFT enough. They're a dream to work with, and you can use them with your alcohol pens, so you know I'll be purchasing the black once my Memento runs low. It's always good to switch things up a little once in a while.

For the rest of the card, I simply matted the stamped piece onto an orange piece of cardstock and layered them onto my card base. Job done.

Thank you for stopping by today. Be sure to visit the BLOG for daily inspiration. xx

Kraft Week on the My Mum's Craft Shop blog

Hello Everyone! Happy Easter! Jane here today and our theme on the blog  this week is 'Kraft'. I have used lots of it on my card!  I have gone all pink and girly to balance out the Black and Kraft and have used the Pure Innocence Sassitude card as my focal image, she reminds me so much of lovely Goddaughter Poppy, and the Cheetah Background stamp to make the animal print background.

The pink paper is by American Crafts and has been in my stash for ages and I used it to paper piece the dress and bow too. The sentiment comes with the image and I added a little heart brad , a paper flower and some stick on gems to finish.

Here is a little close up of the image. I just love her little boots! They are so adorable! I hope you have a lovely Easter Sunday.

You're a Lifesaver

Happy Hump Day!!

I'm back with some more inspiration using products from My Mum's Craft Shop today!! :)

Sit back and enjoy this incredibly short blog post!

So I used some Neenah Solar White cardstock.
A bunch of inks - Memento Dew Drops and Versafine
.. and THIS awesome Wicked Nauticool stamp set from Paper Smooches,

I mean.. come on?! Cool no?!

I did challenge myself to use no patterned paper, but I couldn't help myself.. and these Paper Smooches sets lend them so well to paper piecing. I used an older My Minds Eye set with loads of scraps left.

Quacky birthday!!!

Hello and welcome to our "free" week here at My Mum's Craft Shop blog....
If you are a canny crafter you will identify with me , when sometimes you can create a DT card, and have it pre-purposed... in this case for a special little girls birthday!!!
Her favourite toy of the moment is a little yellow duck , which goes everywhere with her, so this is what I came up with....

This adorable fella is "Duck in boots"... from Some Odd Girl, and I have coloured him up with my markers....
The yummy papers, are a perfect team up for this card, and are my Mind's Eye Six by Six "Life of the party
I have used a couple of MFT die-namics dies, the scallop die and the looped border die . The sentiment was from my PC...
Another quick make, and the perfect papers , once again , from My Mind's Eye, made it easy peasy!!!
Have a super crafty day!!

Strawberry Tea toppers from The Hobby House

Hello Everyone! Jane here today and I am sharing a card I made with one of the lovely new toppers from The Hobby House. As you know, I do love my colouring but I also enjoy to use pre-coloured toppers sometimes to make quicker cards.

I have used a topper from the 'Strawberry tea' set which is available here from My Mum's Craft shop. The colours match really nicely with the new BoBunny 'Modern Miss' papers which I also used on my card. I inked around the edges of all the layers and the image before sewing around the edges and putting the card together.

I added a My Favourite Things sentiment onto a little die cut tag and added ribbon, a doily die cut and lots of paper flowers and little embellishments to tie in with the sewing theme.

Here is a close up of the lovely topper. She is simply adorable and I love the colour combination that was used to colour her in. I am really looking forward to using the rest of the toppers from this set.
I hope you have a lovely Sunday!

Spring Colours Week on the My Mum's Craft Shop blog

Hello Everyone! Jane here today! Our theme this week is Spring Colours so I used papers from the Echo Park Splendid Sunshine pad as the colours are so bright and zingy and they match the theme of the Pure Innocence image I have used so perfectly!

The stamp set  I have used is 'I'm all ears' and it available here from My Mum's Craft Shop. I coloured the image with my Markers and then paper pieced her dress and ears with some papers from the pad.

I die cut the central panel using a Spellbinders die and sewed a strip of blue paper through the middle. I stamped my sentiment on to a Sentiment strip and added it to the right of my image with foam pads. I also added an eyelet and tied it with some neutral twine.

Here is a close up of my image. I am really enjoying paper piecing at the moment, it's such a fun way to add patterns to the characters dresses.

I made a little carrot embellishment as a finishing touch for my card. I made it by rolling a strip of orange card with a quilling tool and shaping it with a wooden skewer before gluing it. I then added some strips of green card inside that had been fringed with my scissors. I glittered the finished carrot with stickles glitter glue before I added it to the card.
Have a lovely Sunday!
