A Wild Rose Studio Hug

Hello Everyone!Jane here today! I hope you are having a good Weekend so far. It's Sunday so it's  my day for sharing a card on the blog today and I have made one using some of the gorgeous Wild Rose Studio products which are available at My Mum's Craft Shop.

The papers are from the Blackberry Lane pad which is available here and I matted them on to green card before sewing around the edges. I love all the pretty flowers on these papers. I used a gorgeous green ribbon from The Ribbon Girl to wrap around the papers and to add a pretty bow which I topped with a button threaded with twine. The sentiment is by Paper Smooches.

Here is a close up of the adorable image 'Emily and Cat' which I coloured with a mix of different alcohol markers. I cut it out using a Spellbinder's die and added it to the card using foam pads. I added lots of paper flowers to finish as well as a resin one and a couple of little wooden hearts. I hope you have a lovely Sunday!

This card is called a shutter card as it opens and closes like a camera shutter, so as the card is opened the top picture opens up to reveal the image but closes again as you close the card, its a really lovely tactile card

Holly Time

Hey folks! This week we are having a GLITTER OR SNOW week.

For a quick and easy Christmas card, I have used the Wee Stamps topper from the Holly Time collection. I've used lashings of Stickles (hope you can see it!) on the topper and my snowflakes. These papers are Docrafts Christmas In the Country. To decorate I've used the Snowflake Trio and Jumbo Snowflake Dienamics.

Let it Snow

This week the DT are showcasing projects featuring glitter or snow. I had to go with both, as I think they go hand in hand perfectly!!

I only ever us 3D foam pads to create depth on my cards, so I used my tweezers to be super careful and super sure about there I placed each layer before I pressed down. I added some Stickles to the snow in the scene on the background panel.

I backed the image panel and my gorgeous subtle papers from First Edition Silent Night collection onto black card stock to make it pop and add a little modern twist.

I used a little sentiment panel from the decoupage set to stamp my sentiment. I added some organza ribbon, a few little buttons, a crochet flower and some punched stars which I covered in Stickles. I die cut some vellum using the Die-namics Let it Snowflake dies and layered them under the buttons and flower.

Oh, and like you hadn't seen.. I used my Tonic Edger 2 punch.. again!!

That's it from me for today! Stay chilly. xx

Snow or Glitter themed week - Indigoblu Christmas

Hello Everyone! Jane here today and I am kicking off a new themed week on the My Mum's Craft shop blog. Our theme this week is 'Snow or Glitter' and I have decided to follow the 'Snow' theme by using some gorgeous papers covered with Snowflakes from the My Mind's Eye Mistletoe Magic papers. I create a simple layout and added a little stitching. I like to keep most of my Christmas cards simple as I have to make quite a few!

I die cut a banner shape using a Dienamics die and added a fabulous Typographic sentiment from Indigoblu on top.

I love the fancy fonts on this stamp. I stamped it using red Archival ink. I added the banner shape on to my card using foam pads and then added a wooden snowflake from my stash which I topped with a button. I finished off with a few little stick on gems. I hope you have a lovely Sunday!

Sandy and her sombrero!

Today, I've got another Uptown Girl to show you - don't forget these are selling out fast already so if you want to get your mitts on Sandy, you'd better get to the store pronto!

I coloured Sandy and Her Sombrero with copics. The papers I've used are American Crafts Shoreline which I've noticed have now sold out (sorry folks!) The waves have been made using the Catch A Wave Dienamic and the sentiment that accompanies Sandy has been cut out using the Say What? speech bubble Dienamic. I used my Papertrey Ink In The Meadow Snowdrifts die but you could easily substitute it with the Snowdrifts Dienamic.

Here's your close up. How trendy n cool does she look?!

We'll Miss You

Good morning! :)

So the story goes.. we had a lovely girl leave us at Homey B's a few weeks ago, and I just had to make a card for her from us all. I used the adorable Matilda from the Wild Spouts collection at The Greeting Farm, as it looks just like her. If ever there is something you'd like to buy from the shop, but it is out of stock or not appearing on the website, just drop Kitty a line and she'll be more than happy to help you out!!

I decided the colour the hair up a little different than normal, with less strokes and more solid colour. I kinda like how it turned out, and will keep practicing it. It's good to help practice you're blending and transition between lightest and darkest colour.

So I picked out some papers from My Minds Eye Collectable Notable 6x6 pack, and matched Matildas clothes to the colours with my ProMarkers. I cut apart one of the sheets of paper with the miniature note cards on to stamp my sentiment with Memento ink

I kept this card pretty simple and let the paper and image speak.. but of course my favourite tool at the minute made it's way in somehow *wink.. the Tonic Edger 2 punch. LOVE IT! I cannot recommend it highly enough. I know I keep banging on about it, but guys.. you just gotta try it!

So that's all from me this week!! Thanks for stopping by. xo

Glittery Butterfly Birthday Wishes

Hello Everyone! Jane here today! I hope you are having a lovely weekend so far. I had a busy day yesterday and am looking forward to chilling out a little bit today and having some Crafty time! I have been playing with the lovely Kaisercraft Enchanted Garden papers this week, the pad is packed with lots of beautiful papers including a couple of glittery ones and I couldn't resist making a shaped card using the gorgeous Butterfly paper.

I cut the card base and the paper I used to top the card using a Spellbinders die and cut another strip of paper from the pad using a Dienamics die to stamp my sentiment which is from the very useful Clearly Sentimental set. I added a butterfly which I die cut using a Clearly Besotted die and finished with some gems and a little paper flower.Have a lovely Sunday!

Seasons Greetings

Wednesday morning again so it's my turn, Lou Mac.

This week, Kitty challenged us to use 'Something Round' on our cards..

Naturally the first thing I reached for was the Winter Wreath die from MFT Die-Namics

I die cut four wreaths and layered them together to create more depth in the card. I die cut some buttons using the Die-Namics Button Quartet dies, only using the smallest button, to decorate my wreath with some dramatic black cardstock. I also added some punched stars which I covered with Gunmetal Stickles, some real buttons and a matt black brad I found when I was clearing my desk! ;) Aren't they the best embellishments? LOL!! Oh, and before I forget, I used the Let is Snowflake die set from MFT too, to create some little vellum snowflakes to layer under some stars.

Ohh, my paper. I almost forgot about the paper. The papers are from the delicious First Edition Silent Night pack. The thing I love about this paper collection is how many neutral colours there are, with just the slight pop of blue every now and then. It makes them perfect for any kind of winter occasion and allows you to customise your card with a more bold colour of your choice!!

That's all from me today guys. Enjoy your Wednesday. xo

A brand new themed week...Something round

Hello Everyone! Jane here today and I am kicking off a new themed week on the My Mum's Craft Shop blog. This week we will all be using something round on our Projects. I used a large circle die to create the focal point for my card and stamped it with a My Favourite Things sentiment from the Bold Statements set I then added black glitter glue to for a bit of added sparkle.

The papers I have used on my card are from the My Mind's Eye Chalk Studio pad.  The cute little Panda is by Crafter's Companion and I coloured him in with Graph'it pens and Promarkers.

I popped him on to the card using foam pads and then finished the card off with some flowers, a button, a scrabble tile and a stick on gem. I hope you have a lovely Sunday.
